Last week I headed back up to Mzuzu to continue with the composting toilet project for the Chimwemwe Daycare center in Masasa. Unfortunately, I am still stumped with regards to converting the minds of the locals as to the fact that this concept is not dirty.
Existing toilet structure which is no longer in use due to the "rest" period that is required.
The school has a small room which is ideal for setting up of the new toilet facilities as soon a the containing walls have been erected. This is the process which takes time and money both of which are scarce at this time, but there is still hope and I'll be back with reinforcements.
